Harpenden Books is the town’s bookshop, at 48 High Street. It is run by Waterstones but named after the town, to be a proper local bookshop for Harpenden, and it brought a bookshop back to the High Street after the town had gone without one.
The shop is spread over two floors. Downstairs you will find new releases, non-fiction, children’s books, cards, gifts and stationery. Upstairs are fiction, science fiction, graphic novels, young adult fiction, poetry and drama, along with cookery, history, travel, nature and biography.

- Sunday: 10am to 4.30pm
