Autumn is one of the busiest times of year for events in Harpenden. The Eric Morecambe Centre has a packed programme of comedy, music and talks, the Farmers’ Market is back on the High Street, and November brings Remembrance Sunday and the build-up to Christmas. Here are the highlights for October and November 2026.
Comedy and talks at the Eric Morecambe Centre
The Eric Morecambe Centre in Rothamsted Park hosts several big names this autumn. All shows below start at 7.30pm, and tickets are available from the box office on 01582 767525 or online.
- An Evening with Nigel Owens MBE: Friday 2 October. The former international rugby referee shares stories from his career.
- Ruby Wax: Absolutely Famous: Tuesday 27 October (ages 14+).
- Andy Hamilton’s Night To Remember: Thursday 29 October (ages 16+).
- Dom Joly: Trigger Happy TV 25th Anniversary Tour: Wednesday 4 November (ages 14+).
- Chuckl Comedy with Reginald D Hunter: Friday 13 November, with Dan Tiernan, Wendy Wason and MC Dave Ward (ages 15+).
- Sir Geoff Hurst: Last Man Standing: Monday 23 November. The hat-trick hero of England’s 1966 World Cup final tells his story.
Live music and theatre
- Come From Away: Wednesday 7 to Saturday 10 October. Harpenden Musical Theatre Company stages the hit musical about the town of Gander.
- Oasiz: Friday 16 October. An Oasis tribute night, with tickets at £28.50.
- Kerry Ellis: Rock Anthems: Saturday 17 October. West End star Kerry Ellis in concert.
- Hugh Cornwell: Never Say Goodbye Acoustic Tour: Friday 20 November. The original frontman of The Stranglers plays an acoustic set.
For families
- The Amazing Bubbleman: Monday 26 October at 2pm.
- There’s A Monster In Your Show: Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 November at 10.30am and 1.30pm, based on Tom Fletcher’s picture books.
Markets and community events
- UNA Harpenden public lecture: Saturday 17 October, 10.30am, at the Salvation Army on Leyton Green. Mike Pearson asks how the UN Development Goals are really going. Registration is required.
- Opening of the Field of Remembrance: Saturday 24 October at 11am at the War Memorial on Church Green, marking the local launch of the Poppy Appeal.
- Harpenden Farmers’ Market: Sunday 25 October, 10am to 2pm on the High Street, with around 70 stalls.
- Remembrance Parade and Service: Sunday 8 November. The parade moves off from Rothamsted Park at 10.35am, and the service at the War Memorial begins at 10.50am.
- Harpenden Sustainability Market (festive edition): Sunday 15 November, 10am to 3pm on Harpenden Common in front of Park Hall.
