Alistair Poole Veterinary Surgery, at 169 Luton Road, Harpenden, was founded over thirty years ago by Alistair and Sue Poole; following Alistair’s death in 2019, Sue and the long-serving team have continued running the practice, now led by senior veterinary surgeon Gillian Goodchild. It treats dogs, cats, rabbits and other small pets including reptiles and birds.
Same-day appointments are offered for ill pets, with a prescription and postal delivery service and referral to specialist centres when needed. Consultation hours are Monday-Friday 9am-12pm and 3.30pm-6.30pm, and Saturday 9am-11.30am, with a 24-hour phone line and out-of-hours emergency care via the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals.
