Profile
Classics on the Common 2026 returns to Harpenden Common on Wednesday 22 July, bringing together one of the UK’s best-known classic car events for another memorable summer day in Hertfordshire.
Organised by Rotary in Harpenden, Classics on the Common has become one of Britain’s biggest mid-week classic car shows and a much-loved part of the local events calendar. Each year, up to 1,000 classic cars, motorcycles and scooters arrive on Harpenden Common, representing more than a century of motoring history and attracting thousands of spectators.
Visitors can explore an impressive variety of vehicles, from early vintage models and iconic British marques to sports cars, motorcycles and rare automotive curiosities. Rather than being displayed in strict categories, vehicles are shown side by side across the Common, creating a unique and relaxed atmosphere where enthusiasts, families and local residents can enjoy the event together.
Alongside the remarkable collection of vehicles, Classics on the Common is also an important charity fundraiser. The event supports a number of charitable causes and has raised significant sums through the generosity of exhibitors, sponsors and visitors over the years.
Held in the heart of Harpenden on the scenic Common, Classics on the Common 2026 offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a summer afternoon surrounded by automotive history, community spirit and one of the town’s most popular annual events.
